Details:

The work of Soliani rarely appears on the market. His inspiration probably derived from makers active much earlier in his native region.  For this violin, he adopted a slightly enlarged model of 36 cm with open C bouts. The narrow flames of the maple back and lightly applied orange brown varnish hark back to a style of violinmaking that was all but vanished in Soliani’s lifetime.
