Trevor Davis - b. 1983

Passionate about every aspect of the double-bass from making and restoration to playing, Trevor Davis graduated with a Jazz Performance degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and then spent a year in France, where he made the decision to shift his focus into the art of lutherie. Upon returning to the US in 2008, Trevor attended the Violin Making School of America and was a student in its first instrument restoration course. Since then, he has gained recognition at the International Society of Bassists Makers Competition, where his first bass won a Certificate of Workmanship. Trevor’s basses are being used by world-class musicians, including John Patitucci and players on the audition circuit in pursuit of orchestral careers. PHOTO: modeled after an extremely fine and rare double-bass made by the great Cremonese maker Giovanni Battista Ceruti and dated 1800. Its modest size and rather broad platform make this model player-friendly without sacrificing sound quality or power.  Tonally it has a dense core with good dimension and a wide color palate.  A perfect combination of focus and spread. It is a great sounding and playing bass!!
