Details:

Christian Pedersen – Albuquerque, NM 2015 (Deluxe Orchestral Model)

Having worked in violin shops since age ten, Christian Pedersen has vast experience in every facet of violin-making and restoration. Christian majored in violin performance at West Texas State University and University of North Texas while apprenticing in luthier Steven Cundall’s shop in Aubrey, TX. He eventually became a shop owner himself and later became head of instrument production at Brook Mays Music, the largest chain of musical instrument stores in Texas. For the past 20 years, Christian has made his home at Robertson & Sons, where, through his unique finishing process, he has focused on producing exceptional violins, violas, cellos, and basses at reasonable prices. Recently Christian has expanded focus, dedicating more time to those instruments crafted entirely by his own hand from start to finish. As one of the most prolific makers of our time, Christian’s work and guidance has had tremendous influence on many award-winning makers, including Daniel Hachez, Nick Lloyd, Trevor Davis, and Evan Davenport, among others. Christian’s instruments are currently in the hands of professional violinists in such orchestras as the New York Philharmonic, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and New Jersey Symphony, bassists on the audition circuit, aspiring cellists, and by countless freelance musicians, music educators and students alike.

PHOTO: A "workbench" instrument, this robust model was designed with sound production and orchestral playing in mind. It has a powerful, open, spread sound with good focus and nice cushion to the response. It is competitive with and superior to basses commonly offered at much higher price points. A truly exceptional value.
